In a series of early morning raids, detectives from Strike Force Duncan targeted alleged associates of the KVT gang, a youth gang with a reputation for drug trafficking. The operation, which began as an investigation into illegal activities, quickly uncovered a network of criminal enterprises.
At 5:30 am, detectives executed a search warrant in Edmondson Park, leading to the arrest of a 28-year-old man. He was charged with serious offenses, including directing a criminal group and ongoing drug supply. Refused bail, he faced Liverpool Local Court today.
But the arrests didn't stop there. Just before 5 am, police stopped a vehicle on the Great Western Highway at Glenbrook, resulting in the arrest of another 28-year-old man. Charged with supplying prohibited drugs, participating in a criminal group, and multiple counts of supplying large commercial quantities, he too was refused bail and appeared in Penrith Local Court.
And this is the part most people miss... the impact of these arrests extends beyond the individuals involved. During the raids, detectives seized approximately 40 kilograms of illicit drugs, estimated to be worth a whopping $12.5 million on the streets. This seizure is believed to be linked to the alleged supply of a further 55 kilograms of drugs, valued at $16.5 million.
